As the healthcare industry continues to grapple with immense challenges — from staffing shortages and clinician burnout to soaring administrative costs and payer-provider friction — the need for innovation has never been greater. That’s why Xsolis has proudly joined the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI), solidifying our commitment to safe, equitable, and effective application of AI in healthcare.
Xsolis is a pioneer in the use of AI, with more than 10 years of experience working with the nation’s largest health systems and health plans to reduce the error, waste, and delay that exists in the healthcare system. CHAI is a private sector coalition dedicated to establishing industry best practices and frameworks for health AI. Bringing together a diverse array of stakeholders — including health systems, patient advocates, researchers, professional associations, startups, and established technology providers — CHAI is charting a path forward for AI that prioritizes quality, representation, and ethical integrity.
Not just joining’ but leading by example
For Xsolis, joining this coalition is a natural extension of our vision to create a frictionless healthcare system. Our approach is centered on the use of a shared AI framework to reduce administrative waste and enable seamless collaboration between providers and payers.

We recognize that this technology must be implemented with the utmost care and responsibility. Through our participation in CHAI’s work groups, we’re helping to shape the guidelines that will govern the development and deployment of health AI, ensuring that it serves the best interests of patients, clinicians, and the entire healthcare ecosystem.
“No individual can win a game by himself.”
– Pelé
Leading this charge for Xsolis is Chief Medical Officer Dr. Heather Bassett, the architect of Xsolis’ proprietary AI-driven Care Level Score™ and leader of Xsolis’ data science organization.
Dr. Bassett brings a unique, clinician-centric perspective to CHAI’s work groups that are focused on establishing AI best practices.
According to Healthtech Analytics, “clinicians are more likely to accept AI tool recommendations and capabilities if they know they have the final say regarding patient care” — and that the AI solution has been developed with such “human-in-the-loop” guidance in mind. By combining Dr. Bassett’s clinical expertise with her deep understanding of AI’s powerful capabilities, and its potential pitfalls, she is poised to make valuable contributions to CHAI’s efforts to make healthcare AI safer and more equitable.
CHAI’s applied model cards, or AI “nutrition labels,” will provide additional guidance around key principles of responsible AI use in healthcare, including transparency, safety, security, privacy, fairness, and usefulness. This framework aligns with the criteria for HTI-1 predictive decision support tools, ensuring that our solutions meet the highest standards of accountability and trust.
Beyond just participating in CHAI, Xsolis takes its responsibility as an AI pioneer seriously to take an active, leading role within the coalition. We will be standing alongside some of the healthcare industry’s most prominent health systems and technology leaders, working to translate existing standards into meaningful, context-specific guidelines for the use of AI in healthcare. This includes defining what transparency looks like, establishing fair and unbiased metrics, and exploring ways to make AI more accessible to organizations of all sizes.
“Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.”

What this means for Xsolis clients and healthcare
For Xsolis clients, our CHAI membership translates to greater confidence in the integrity and impact of our AI-powered solutions. Dragonfly®, our flagship platform, is the first and only solution to use real-time predictive analytics to continuously assess medical necessity and level of care for every patient. As part of our commitment to responsible AI, Xsolis has implemented internal model cards to guide development and provide transparency to our clients. Moving forward, we will continue evolving our approach by incorporating CHAI’s principles, ensuring our technology empowers clients to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance patient outcomes responsibly.
For the healthcare industry as a whole, Xsolis’ CHAI membership represents a crucial step forward in the quest to harness the transformative potential of AI. In the face of mounting public frustration over issues like payer-provider friction and the high cost of care, AI-driven solutions offer a glimmer of hope. But realizing that promise requires a steadfast commitment to responsible development and deployment — which is precisely what CHAI and its members, including Xsolis, are working to achieve.
